Well, what I said, right?
That in the end in the world of Barça, in the world of sport…
the sporting result and the sporting state, especially the first team
of
football, counts a lot and I think this has been above others
situations
social, economic, which we have been explaining during these last
weeks, which have a lot
journey and many things to improve,
but hey, it is what it is and again, accept defeat
sportingly and I repeat, congratulate the president
Font, after losing the elections for president of Barcelona: ”The sporting state of the first team weighs a lot”
Font congratulates Laporta even before finishing the scrutiny
The former candidate for the presidency of FC Barcelona Víctor Font congratulated the president-elect, Joan Laporta, this Sunday, after recognizing his victory in the elections held at the Blaugrana club, although he assured that the alternative club model that his candidacy defended “is closer than ever.”
“I want to start by congratulating Joan Laporta, the president-elect, for the victory he achieved today at the polls,” Font said to the media, still awaiting the final result of the scrutiny but with a 69 percent of the vote favored Laporta with just over half of the scrutiny carried out.
Font admitted, however, that The results have not been what they expected. “It is evident that we have not achieved the results we expected. We are sad because the hope of transforming the club and implementing everything we have explained during these last months has not been possible,” he acknowledged.
Laporta, unleashed well into the night
Joan Laporta was not only the favorite, but he knew he was the favorite. On a day in which he was the ‘escort’ of Aitana Bonmatí or Flick, and even where he jumped with the first team players when they came to vote, Laporta began after the 25% vote, having 69% of the votes compared to Font’s 28%.
