This Sunday, the second day of the Paralympic event, has not been a good day for the Spaniards Higinio Rivero and Emilio Redondo.
Higinio has placed twenty-third in the individual seated parabiathlon test, after missing four of his five shots, which cost him a five-minute penalty that relegated him to penultimate place.
But the Spaniard was not about to stay behind and was able to climb back on his cross-country ski to 23rd place, very commendable considering the setback suffered.
The test was won by the Chinese Liu Zixu; second was his compatriot Mao Zhongwu and the bronze went to the Ukrainian Taras Rad.
The Basque athlete already participated on Saturday in the seated biathlon sprint testwhere it was in twentieth position. Higinio Rivero still has four events left between biathlon and cross-country skiing.
For his part, the Toledo Emilio Redondo has said goodbye in the quarterfinal round in snowboard cross (LL2), after finishing fourth in his series, in which the Korean Lee Jehyuk won; second was the Chinese Sun Qi and third was the Japanese Okamoto Keiji.
The Spanish rider made his debut on Saturday in the preliminary classification, where he set the fourteenth best time. His journey in Milano Cortina has not yet come to an end, as he still has to compete in the banked slalom event.
