Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired 25% of Unión Deportiva Almería, which is third in the Hypermotion League table.
In a statement published this Thursday, the 41-year-old Portuguese footballer revealed that the operation has been carried out through CR7 Sports Investments, a new subsidiary of the company CR7 SA, through which the forward manages his businesses and investments.
“For a long time I have had the ambition to contribute to football beyond the field. UD Almería is a Spanish club with a strong base and clear growth potential. I wish to work with the team that leads it to support the club in its new phase of growth,” Cristiano Ronaldo said in the text.
The note does not offer financial data on this “strategic investment” and highlighted that this operation reflects the long-term commitment of the Saudi Al-Nassr forward to the ownership of professional football teams and represents an important milestone for him, as an entrepreneur and investor.
The president of Almería, Mohammed al Kherijiexpressed in the statement his satisfaction with the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo has chosen his club to invest.
“He is considered the best on the field, he knows the Spanish leagues very well and understands the potential of what we are building here both in terms of the team and the youth team,” noted Al Khereiji.
