The match on matchday 23 of LaLiga EA Sports between Rayo Vallecano and the Real Oviedo, which was postponed last Saturday, February 7 due to the poor condition of the grass from the Madrid club’s stadium, will be played on the date already scheduled by LaLiga: next March 4 at 7:00 p.m., according to this organization.
According to the LaLiga statement, “the National Second Instance Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has resolved the appeals filed by Rayo Vallecano, Real Oviedo and the National Professional Football League. against the resolution issued on February 19, 2026 by the Sole Judge of Professional Competitions in relation to the suspension of the match corresponding to matchday 23 of the First Division National League Championship.”
He adds that “it has been agreed unanimously declare the nullity of the lower court resolutionconsidering that the RFEF lacks the competence to review or declare the ineffectiveness of the decisions adopted by LaLiga regarding the suspension, postponement and setting of dates of the matches of the competitions it organizes,” indicates LaLiga.
“The resolution bases its decision on the final ruling of December 18, 2024 of the Sixth Chamber of the National Court. The National Committee of Second Instance emphasizes that the obligation to respect and comply with final judicial decisions is not subject to the conformity of the Federation or its bodies with their content, remembering that in a State of Law, subjective discrepancy does not exempt compliance with a ruling,” adds LaLiga.
